Meet Honey, a little Chihuahua with a big personality and just enough attitude to keep life interesting! 🍯

Honey was given up after she didn’t take kindly to the arrival of some new puppies in her home. Let’s just say she wasn’t exactly thrilled about the changes. When she arrived at Animatch, she was frightened and very reactive, but then one of our experienced Foster Moms stepped in—and Honey has made tremendous progress. She has come a long way, although she will need someone who is prepared to continue the good work.

And there’s plenty to love about this little girl! Honey’s foster home has both a dog and a cat, and she is doing well with them. We feel she would be happiest in an experienced adult home or with children 12+ who understand that small dogs may come with big opinions and need to be treated with respect.

Honey absolutely loves having a yard and room to enjoy herself. Her favourite pastime? Fetch! Throw the ball and Honey will bring it back. Throw it again. And again. And again. Clearly, someone is going to need to invest in a serious supply of balls and chewy toys. 😄

When her humans first started leaving the house, Honey occasionally entertained herself with a little interior decorating—otherwise known as chewing things she shouldn’t. Thankfully, that seems to be improving. Still, leaving your favourite shoes within reach might be considered an invitation.

Honey also takes her watchdog duties very seriously. She is quick to announce visitors, squirrels, suspicious noises and probably anything else she considers worthy of public notice. For that reason, apartment or condo living is probably not her calling.

Honey is looking for an experienced family who will appreciate her quirky little personality, give her continued guidance and, of course, throw the ball as often as she demands.
