Cookie here! I’m a proud Morkie — Maltese x Yorkie — and at about 13 lbs, I’m a whole lot of cute packed into a small package.

Unfortunately, I find myself looking for a new home because my family was moving and I wasn’t going to be part of the move. I arrived at Animatch with another dog, and having a familiar face beside me has been a great comfort. Sadly, we realize that we may eventually have to go our separate ways.

I know you’ve heard it before — from Animatch and from rescues everywhere — a dog is a lifetime commitment. Please, please take that commitment seriously. Life can certainly throw us some unexpected curveballs, and sometimes circumstances genuinely change. But when you bring a dog into your life, the responsibility is yours for that dog’s entire lifetime.

Shelters and rescues are filled with dogs who have lost their homes, many of them seniors who never imagined they would be starting over. And these are the lucky ones — they made it to a safe place. What about the dogs who never get that chance?

Okay, enough of the serious stuff. Let’s talk about me!

I’m cute as a button, and despite all this fabulous fur, I weigh only about 13 lbs. I’m a non-shedder, but that doesn’t mean I’m maintenance-free! My coat will need regular brushing and a trip to the groomer a few times a year. Brushing me a few times a week is not only good for my coat — it’s also a pretty nice way for us to spend time together.

I get along with other dogs, especially the calm and respectful types. I still have plenty of pep in my step and love going for walks. I may even chase a ball if the mood strikes me. Don’t expect me to spend my days snoozing on the sofa — I’m ready to get out and enjoy life, and that means you’ll be getting up and about with me too!

If you’re looking for a little guy with personality, energy and plenty of love to give, perhaps I’m your guy. Just remember: I’m looking for my forever home, not my next home.
