About Steve

Update - June 10:

Steve here, checking in and wondering if my applications got lost in the mail. The volunteers were convinced this handsome face would have me heading home in no time, but here I am, still waiting. I've been waiting two months. Surely someone out there needs a handsome, low-maintenance best friend?"

The good news? Once I've had my exercise, I'm a pretty easy-going guy. Give me a patch of grass, a comfy dog bed, and a view of the world going by, and I'm one happy fellow. I'd be perfectly content being your one and only.

What I'm really looking for is commitment—a forever home where I can finally unpack my bags. So don't just scroll past. Take a closer look and, if you think we might be a match, fill out that application. I promise I'm worth it.

********************************************************************************************

My name is Steve, and I was picked up by Animal Control in Hawkesbury. Sadly, no one came looking for me… same old story, just a different day.

You see, we’re all adorable as puppies—irresistible, really. People take us home, fall in love… and then we grow up. Adolescence hits, we discover a little “chutzpah,” and without guidance, exercise, and commitment… well, that’s how some of us end up as strays. The good news? I’ve landed at Animatch, and that means my next stop is a forever home—this time, the right one.

Now, let’s be honest: I’m not a “turnkey” kind of dog. There’s some work to be done. But with patience, consistency, and a sense of humour, I’ve got all the potential in the world. In fact, signing us up for training classes would be a fantastic way for us to bond and help me become the dog you’ve always wanted.

I’m an active guy who’s always up for a good walk, a hike, or any outdoor adventure you have in mind. Who knows? I might even shine in a dog sport! With proper introductions, I can get along with other dogs. Cats… let’s just say that chapter of my life is likely closed. As for kids, respectful children over 8—or even better, teenagers with a good throwing arm for balls or frisbees—would suit me just fine.

What I want most, though, is commitment. The kind that lasts a lifetime. Love me just as much when I’m 12 or 15 years old as you do the day you bring me home. If you’re ready to put in the time, share the adventure, and build something special… fill in that application and don’t forget to write one name: STEVE
