About Maggie

Maggie is my name, and I’m here to show you just how forgiving a dog can be.

My human had to surrender me because he simply could no longer give me the care I desperately needed. I arrived at Animatch a matted mess, with rotten teeth, painful ear infections, and some lumps and bumps that needed attention. But through it all, I never stopped loving people. I still knew what it meant to be loved, and I still believed that humans were worth trusting.

Well, look at me now! My teeth have been cleaned and the ones that couldn’t be saved were removed, my lipomas are gone, and those nasty ear infections have cleared up. I’m feeling so much better—and, quite honestly, like a new dog.

At 12 years old, you might expect me to be content curling up in a bed all day. Not a chance! I have places to go and things to see. I love people, I love attention, and I want to be part of whatever you’re doing. Walks, car rides, little adventures, or simply being by your side—I want to experience all those things that so many dogs take for granted.

Do I have as many years ahead of me as a young dog? No. And that’s exactly why I hope someone will look at my age and see the years that still matter, rather than the ones that have already passed. I don’t need a complicated life. I just need someone who will give an older girl the love, comfort, and adventures she deserves.

Because when you’re 12, you learn that every day is precious—and I intend to make every one of mine count.
