About Maya

Maya has been waiting at for a while, and this sweet girl is more than ready for her next chapter.

Maya was adopted from Animatch as a puppy and grew up with the family she thought would be hers forever. Then a baby arrived, and unfortunately, Maya wasn’t comfortable with the changes that came with a new little one. At five years old, losing the only family she had ever known was a big upheaval. It left her sad and unsure of herself.

Thankfully, Maya had some wonderful people in her corner. Through the guidance and support of FIC – École de Formation des Intervenants Canins du Québec – she has blossomed into a confident, well-balanced girl. She has worked hard, learned a lot, and is now ready to take that final step: finding a family of her very own.

Maya would love an active family who understands that a dog is a lifelong commitment and is ready to give her plenty of exercise, attention, companionship, and, of course, love. She enjoys being outdoors and would be happiest with people who want to include her in their adventures. In return, Maya will give you her whole heart.

She gets along well with other dogs when introductions are done properly. Cats, however, are definitely not on her list of favourite things – that ship has sailed! Respectful children over the age of 8 who understand doggy boundaries and how to treat a dog would be a good fit.

Maya has already experienced the heartbreak of losing her family once. She doesn’t need another temporary stop; she needs someone who is ready to make her part of the family for good. She is sweet, loving, eager to please, and so very ready to belong.
