Rider here! I am one of Journey’s six pups. Mom has now headed off to her new home — she misses us, but apparently not quite enough to come back! Animatch is always happy when the moms find their families before the puppies do. It means they get their happily-ever-after too.

These days, my schedule is pretty demanding: play, eat, sleep… wake up and do it all over again. But now that I am ready to head off to my own family, the real work begins — and, fair warning, most of it will be on you!

Puppies are lots of fun, but they don’t come pre-programmed. Exercise, socialization, training, learning good manners and discovering how to navigate the world all need to start now. I’m off to a good start, but the ball is about to be firmly in your court. Consistency, patience and plenty of positive reinforcement will help me grow into the wonderful adult dog I’m meant to be.

A home where I won’t be left alone for more than a few hours is a must. An older, playful canine sibling who enjoys a little roughhousing and is willing to show me the ropes would be a definite bonus. I could easily see myself tormenting — I mean, loving — a cat, too! Kids 8 and over who understand that puppies come equipped with sharp little teeth, boundless enthusiasm and absolutely no concept of personal space would be a great fit.

As for my size… well, I’m an interesting mix of French Bulldog and Lab, so asking exactly how big I’ll be is a bit like asking me to predict the future. We’re expecting medium-sized, but there are no guarantees when it comes to my final dimensions.

One thing is certain: I think my new family needs to schedule a shopping spree. Sturdy chew toys, a few squeakers, a ball or two — and, of course, some good bones. After all, raising a puppy is hard work, and I fully intend to make sure everyone stays busy!
