About Maya

Meet Maya, a beautiful Northern mix who was adopted from Animatch as a puppy. Sadly, after her family welcomed their first baby, they felt Maya was no longer comfortable around him and made the difficult decision to return her.

The upheaval of losing the only home she had ever known was hard on Maya. While she wasn't displaying any serious behavioural issues, we felt she would thrive with the structure, mental stimulation, and daily activity provided by *FIC, where future dog trainers gain hands-on experience.

It turned out to be the perfect fit. Maya has earned an A+ report card! She loves working with the students, enjoys her long walks, and is always happy to take part in training sessions and outdoor adventures. She is an intelligent dog who enjoys having both her mind and body engaged.

With proper introductions, Maya does well with polite, well-mannered dogs, although she isn't shy about telling an overly pushy dog to respect her space. Cats, however, are definitely not on her list of friends.

Maya is a quiet, well-mannered girl who would be happiest with an active family. Whether it's hiking, exploring trails, or simply spending time outdoors, she'll be right by your side. And because she has Husky in her mix, be prepared for plenty of shedding—especially during coat-blowing season! The good news is that Maya absolutely loves being brushed and enjoys every minute of that one-on-one attention. Just remember: like all double-coated breeds, Maya should never be shaved.

Maya has long since outgrown the puppy stage and knows what it means to be part of a family. She's simply hoping for someone who will give her the second chance she deserves. Puppies may be adorable, but Maya is the complete package—mature, loving, and ready to share her heart with the right person.
