UPDATE - FEB 18: Siku was chosen to get a little more one-on-one from an Animatch special foster Mom. Looks like it is going well and here is a report from Siku herself:
Do you like to jog? This dog is for you. Do you like skijoring? You’ll be the fastest duo on the course. Foster mom calls me SAS. Smart, Active, Stubborn! Smart because I can open every door in her house( not knobs, but handles), active because I love to run and LIVE for my walks, and stubborn because if I don’t want to do something, it is a challenge for you!
I am a counter surfer extraordinaire. I have even pulled open a drawer in the kitchen because it contained 4 small dog cookies. I like to sleep on beds, but FM will not allow because I claim it as mine, and this is a form of resource guarding. She has been successful stopping this, and claims positive training works with me.
I live with another small dog, but she doesn’t care for me, but heh, not everyone can be your friend.
P.S. I will probably be a serial digger, as I have a hole going even though the ground is frozen solid!
I’m quiet in the house, and not destructive except if you fail to secure ANY parcel of food, oh , and of course, very food motivated which helps in training. FM didn’t know I knew how to “shake” for over 3 weeks. She finally figured out to offer a treat, and voila, I showed her I knew it all along (Stubborn).

Hi, I’m Siku. And if I look a little down in the dumps in my photos… well, I’ve earned it. I arrived at Animatch as an unclaimed stray, left waiting and wondering what went wrong. Thankfully, finding homes for dogs like me is exactly what Animatch does best — so I know I’ve landed in the right place.
Opening your heart to a dog whose past is a mystery can feel a bit scary. I wish I could tell you my whole story, but I only speak dog. What I can tell you is this: what you see is what you get. I’m gentle, forgiving, and ready to believe in people again. More than anything, I deserve a committed family — something I haven’t yet had the chance to experience.
I may be a little shy at first, so please give me a moment to warm up. Once I do, you’ll have a loyal new buddy by your side. I get along well with other dogs, but I’d be just as happy soaking up all the love as your one and only. Since my history is unknown, a home with older, respectful children would be the best fit for me.
I might only be about two years old, but I seem wise beyond my years. I’m not here for a casual fling — I’m looking for a true-life partner. If you’re ready to show me what a real family feels like, you know what to do.
Fill out the adoption form… and let’s start our second chance together.
