Turkey is my name … yeah, I know, I asked myself the same question. Why Turkey? Tiger, Condor, Bear, or even Monkey were all available. Nope they took one look at me and apparently a turkey came to mind. Not to worry, I am sure someone will find a new name for me; one that is as impressive as I am going to grow up to me.

I made the long journey from Kuujjuarapik where there are simply too many dogs and not enough homes. I am under socialized and shy and have some catching up to do – I’m counting on you for that. Because I am still quite shy, older children might e best for me.

I only want to do this adoption thing once -- I don’t want to bounce from home to home like so many other dogs I have met at Animatch. So, listen up and take note of what I need. You should know this by now but it is so worth repeating.

• For the next 12 to 15 years, you must love me every day as you did the moment you met me. Even when I’m old, gray, and a little lumpy, I want your eyes to light up when I enter the room – mine will when I see you, I promise.
• For the next 12 to 15 years, you must make sure I get the exercise I need and that means every day (rain or shine); don’t forget I’m a Northern boy so you need to love winter as much as I.
• For the next 12 to 15 years, you must ensure that I am healthy and that means if I am sick, you must take me to the vet. Yes, we know it costs money but don’t adopt me if you aren’t prepared to make sure I am always healthy and pain free.
• For the next 12 to 15 years, you must ensure that I am a well-trained dog; a big investment in the beginning but there is nothing like having a dog who is welcome everywhere.
