Aloha! I’m Fender, and if you’ve ever dreamed of adopting a dog with a backstory and a whole lot of heart, I might just be your guy.
I was found wandering in Nanawale, a lush and beautiful spot on the Big Island of Hawaii. Like in many places around the world—including Canada—there are far too many stray dogs trying to survive on their own. Someone kind saw me, posted my photo online, and when no one came forward, they did the next best thing: brought me to safety. That same good Samaritan gave me my name—not after a car part, but the iconic Fender guitar. Cool, right? A few nicks and scrapes on my muzzle told a bit of my story, but I was just grateful for a warm place to rest and a second chance.
From paradise to poutine country, I made the long journey to Animatch where I’ve been welcomed with open arms (and maybe a belly rub or two). I’m still adjusting to the idea of winter. I hear I’ll be bundled up in a coat, maybe even boots and a tuque. Whatever it takes—I’m game!
Now, I’ll admit, I’m still a work in progress. I may have a habit of turning walks into sled-dog tryouts, and I sometimes confuse people for trampolines. But with consistent training, patience, and a few liver treats, I’m eager to learn and please.
I get along with other dogs, though I might be a bit too much for cats. Because of my bouncy enthusiasm, I’d do better with older, respectful kids. What I truly need is an active family who loves the outdoors as much as I do—walks, runs, hikes, you name it. I’ve got the energy and the spirit to keep up.
So, if you're ready to welcome a Hawaiian boy with a big personality and an even bigger heart, fill out the application form. I can’t wait to hear all about you—and start our new life together.
Mahalo and see you soon,
Fender
