Meet Matt – A Little Dog with a Big Heart
Matt may be small, but he has a story of resilience. Found as a stray and never claimed, this pint-sized Pomeranian arrived at Animatch in rough shape—his beautiful coat was a tangled mess, a clear sign that he had never known proper care. While Poms should never be shaved, Matt’s coat was in such poor condition that we had no choice. But don’t worry—once it grows back, he’ll be as stunning as ever!
Since Matt only speaks "dog," we don’t know much about his past, but it’s clear that life wasn’t always kind to him. He arrived wary of people, uncomfortable with handling, and reactive when scared. Thanks to patience and positive experiences, he has come a long way in just a few weeks. Now, Matt is ready to find a family who will continue to show him the good life.
Matt gets along well with other dogs and could likely adjust to living with a cat. However, a home with young children wouldn’t be ideal—at under 7 lbs., he’s too tiny for rough play, and fast movements or grabby hands would make him nervous. An experienced, patient guardian who understands his need for space and trust-building would be the perfect match.
He enjoys his walks and is much happier now that he feels safe. That said, toilet training will need some work—he has a habit of marking, so consistency and patience will be key.

P.S. As you can see by last photos, I had to have my coat shaved; this was only done because I had NEVER been brushed and it was too painful to do. Once my coat grows in, I should be brushed on a regular basis and never again be shaved.
