Trappy

About Trappy

Trappy is my name, and I’m a very proud Pug who knows what it feels like to be dearly loved by a family. Unfortunately, I have a dislocated hip that requires surgery, and my family simply couldn’t afford the treatment I need. Animatch stepped up, opened their doors and promised to get me the surgery I need — along with the chance to find another family to love. Now that’s something to wag about!

I’m not quite sure how I injured my hip, but I’m getting around surprisingly well while I wait for surgery. The good news? I can go home with my new family before my operation, provided you’re committed to bringing me back to Animatch when my surgery is scheduled. I’ll need some extra TLC and restricted activity during recovery, but the outlook is that I should eventually return to normal. I’ll just need you to be my recovery buddy while I get back on all four paws!

In the meantime, a little home preparation will go a long way. Rugs to prevent slipping, a baby gate to keep me from tackling the stairs, and no jumping on or off furniture are all good ideas. A comfy bed on the floor — or a crate, if needed — will help keep me safe while I heal. Think of it as my temporary VIP recovery suite!

I’ve lived with another dog and was wonderful with her, but for now, roughhousing and chasing games are off the menu. Once I’ve recovered, we can see what the future holds. I should also mention that I take my neighbourhood watch duties VERY seriously. Squirrels, rabbits and unexpected visitors are all cause for an announcement! For that reason, apartment or condo living probably isn’t for me.

I’m ready to love again, and I’m hoping someone will look beyond my upcoming surgery and see the devoted little companion waiting to come home. Yes, there will be some extra planning, patience and a period of recovery, but in return, you’ll have the chance to make a real difference in my life. I’m looking for a family who will stick with me through the healing process and love me for the long haul — from the day I come home until my muzzle turns grey.

Could you be the special person who helps me get back on my paws? Fill out an adoption application and ask for Trappy. I’m ready to start our next chapter together!
