About Dawn

Dawn is my name, and I arrived at Animatch with my brother, Dusk. Since I only speak dog, I can’t fill you in on my past, but let’s just say it’s a bit of a mystery. Rumour has it that I came from a place with far too many dogs, and thanks to a lucky turn of events, I’ve found myself at Animatch, where a fresh start is finally within reach.

I’m believed to be a Miniature Pinscher mix, and at seven years old, I’m ready to discover what life has in store for me. I’m a little shyer than my brother, Dusk, and I’ll need some time to feel comfortable in new surroundings. The good news is that I’m learning to trust the kind people who have helped me along the way. With a little patience and a gentle approach, I’m hoping to let my guard down and show you more of who I am. No rushing me, please — I’m a work in progress!

An adult home or one with older, respectful children would be the best fit for me. It would be wonderful if Dusk and I could find a home together, but we understand that siblings don’t always have to stick together forever. We’re ready to go our separate ways if that’s what’s best for each of us. I get along with other dogs, too, and a friendly canine companion might help me find my confidence and show me the ropes.

My past is a bit of a blank page, so I may need some help with toilet training as I settle into my new life. With patience, consistency and a predictable routine, I should be able to get the hang of things. I’ve had a lot of changes to process, so a little understanding will go a long way.

I’m also discovering that walks are a great way to explore the world at my own pace. There are neighbourhood smells to investigate and plenty of pee-mails to catch up on! As my confidence grows, I look forward to enjoying more of these little adventures with someone I can call my own.
