About Whistler

Whistler is one of five puppies currently looking for homes. While many people see a litter of puppies and think "how exciting," for rescues and shelters it often represents a preventable situation. Caring for an unexpected litter requires significant time, money, and resources, and every puppy adopted can mean one less space available for an adult dog who is also waiting for a family.

This is why spaying and neutering are so important. Affordable clinics and programs do exist, although they may require some research and planning to access. Responsible pet ownership includes preventing unwanted litters and helping to reduce the burden on already overwhelmed rescues and shelters.

Now, on to Whistler!

This handsome youngster is believed to have some Rottweiler in his mix, but whatever breeds make up his family tree, they have combined to create a fun-loving, curious, and delightfully bouncy puppy. Like all puppies, Whistler isn't looking for a home for a few months—he's looking for a family committed to him for life.

Whistler would do best with people who are not away all day. He is at an age where socialization, training, playtime, and frequent potty breaks are essential. Puppy classes would be a wonderful investment in his future and help him grow into a well-mannered canine citizen.

So far, Whistler gets along well with both dogs and cats. He can be a little pesky at times—occupational hazard of being a puppy—but he is eager to learn and capable of understanding boundaries. Because he is still teething and hasn't quite mastered keeping all four paws on the ground, children over the age of eight would be the best fit.

If you're ready for puppy kisses, puppy antics, and the rewarding journey of raising a wonderful companion, Whistler would love to meet you. Fill out an Application Form and tell us all about yourself. His forever family could be just one application away.
