About Oreo

My name is Oreo, and I’m truly one of a kind. You could travel the world and never meet another dog quite like me. In fact, when visitors come over, you can turn me into a guessing game: "What breed do you think he is?" Most people will be stumped! I’m a mix of Catahoula and Rhodesian Ridgeback, with striking markings and a ridge down my back that make me quite the conversation starter.

As handsome as I am, that didn’t stop me from ending up homeless in Hilo, Hawaii. Hard to believe, right? Thankfully, the wonderful people at Action 4 Animals saw my potential and helped me find my way to Animatch.

My rescuers describe me as friendly with both people and other dogs. I’m still polishing my leash-walking skills, but I’m a young guy and eager to learn. If you enjoy hiking, running, or exploring the great outdoors, we could be a perfect match. If your favourite exercise is reaching for the TV remote, I may be a little more enthusiasm than you bargained for!

I do enjoy the sound of my own voice, so apartment or condo living isn’t my ideal setup. A home with a yard where I can stretch out in the grass and keep an eye on the neighbourhood would suit me just fine. Although, coming from Hawaii, I’m still trying to wrap my head around this whole "snow" thing everyone keeps talking about.
