Update - June:
Sophie here... My question is, "Why?" Okay, so I'm not perfect, but I'm not expecting my human to be either!
Yes, I can be a little loud now and then, so condo or apartment living isn't my thing. And yes, I can be a bit of a diva with other dogs, which means I'd much rather be your one and only. But surely one of you is looking for a funny, affectionate little Frenchie like me?
Our awesome photographer insisted on capturing my "fun side," so here I am flashing my best supermodel smile in every photo. What more do I have to do? Stop dilly-dallying and fill out that application already. Sheesh!

Update: Sadly, Sophie’s adoption did not work out, and through no fault of her own, she is once again searching for her forever family. Her adopters felt that the many stairs in their home were challenging for her, and they also found her leash reactivity in their busy, densely populated neighbourhood to be more than they could manage. Interestingly, we do not see this behaviour here at Animatch, which leads us to believe Sophie would thrive in a quieter suburban or rural setting with fewer daily stressors.
Sophie is truly a wonderful Frenchie with so much love to give. She is affectionate, charming, and deserves a family willing to see past a few manageable quirks and appreciate the amazing dog she is. We are hopeful that the right home — one better suited to her needs — is just around the corner.

If you love Frenchie’s, you love this face. My name is Sophie and my daughter, Anne, and I recently arrived at Animatch because our family was going through a tough time. They wanted better for us. Now it would be nice if Anne and I were adopted together but we have also come to terms with each of us going our own way.
French Bulldog experience would be nice; if you haven’t had one before you need to do your research. We do come with a few issues particular to our breed (i.e. allergies, skin problems, etc.) so you need to be aware. I’ll more than make up for any inconvenience with my full body wiggle and happy dance, complete with a full booty shake. I can brighten the gloomiest of days.
Here’s some fun facts about Frenchie’s – we cannot swim (life jacket required) and we are quite prone to flatulence (I can clear a room with my “special gift”), and we are susceptible to heat stroke (air-conditioning appreciated in the summer). Frenchie’s also have a quirky language of our own – snorts, grunts, yodels; I can talk my way through the day.
So do your think you can offer one or both of us a home. Frenchie’s are like peanuts; you can’t have just one. Fill in the application form and let’s see what happens.
