Aloha! Bob’s the name … yep, just plain Bob. But there is absolutely nothing plain about me. At only 9 months old, I’ve already had more adventures than many dogs experience in a lifetime. My entire litter was taken in by Action 4 Animals Hawaii on the Big Island of Hawaii. I spent several months in a foster home and, honestly, I was doing such a great job at being lovable that my foster dad seriously considered keeping me. Sadly, he was already over his dog limit.

So now here I am in Canada, living my best island-boy-meets-north-life experience. I’m loving the green grass, sunshine, and all the friendly people. Everyone keeps laughing about this thing called “winter,” though. Apparently, I’ll need a coat — and maybe even boots — for a few months of the year. I have an adventurous spirit, so I’m pretty sure I’ll figure it out.

I’ve never met a stranger, which means my greetings can sometimes be a little enthusiastic. Okay … very enthusiastic. But hey, that’s what a little training is for. A refresher course on polite leash walking (instead of pretending I’m entering the Iditarod) would probably be a good idea too.

I made the journey here with my best girl Stella, and the two of us have become great buddies while we wait for our forever homes. Now, if you’re thinking about adopting an adolescent dog like me, be prepared for an active lifestyle. Walks, hikes, outdoor adventures, road trips — count me in for all of it. The good news? Once I’ve burned off some energy, I transform into a world-class cuddler.
