Nike here … one of five adorable Border Collie mixes who recently arrived at Animatch looking for forever homes. Yes, we are yet another “oops” litter. Sadly, rescues everywhere are overflowing with dogs — especially large mixed breeds — because too many people still fail to spay and neuter. We’re the lucky ones because Animatch stepped in to help us find families who will make a lifetime commitment.
As part of the “Sneaker Litter,” I’m currently busy doing what puppies do best — wrestling with my siblings, playing with toys, and getting into a little harmless mischief along the way. Before long, though, we will all head off to begin our new lives as cherished family members. I may have missed out on a bit of early socialization, but puppies are wonderfully resilient and quick to learn. Besides, with Border Collie in my family tree, I come equipped with intelligence, curiosity, and plenty of enthusiasm.
Now let’s talk about what life with me will look like. I am not the kind of pup who will be happy with a quick stroll around the block and a backyard. I’m going to need an active family committed to exercise, training, and including me in their adventures. Walks, hikes, exploring trails, games, and learning new things will all help me grow into the well-balanced dog I’m meant to be. Training classes are an absolute must — not only to help me become a wonderful canine citizen, but also because smart dogs thrive when given jobs to do. If you’ve ever considered dabbling in agility, rally, scent work, or other dog sports, I would happily volunteer as your teammate.
Because I’m still a baby and catching up on important life experiences, I shouldn’t be left alone for long hours every day. Another confident, well-balanced dog in the home could be a huge bonus for me too. As for cats … well, let’s just say they should probably appreciate enthusiasm and the occasional game of chase.
Most importantly, Animatch is looking for a family who understands that puppies are a long-term commitment. I may be irresistibly cute now, but I will grow into an active, intelligent dog who will need guidance, patience, and structure throughout my life. Think you’re ready for the adventure?
