Let’s get one thing straight right away: I’m a Miniature Dachshund, which means I come with big personality… and strong opinions about the weather. I do not do cold. Or snow. Or rain. Or slush. In fact, my ideal forecast is “sunny, warm, and dry — forever.” A cozy coat (or three) and maybe some snazzy booties will definitely be required. And if you’re up for mall walking? Now we’re talking — climate control and admiring fans. Perfect.

Life took an unexpected turn when my humans faced some difficult challenges and couldn’t keep me. It rattled me, but the kind folks at Animatch keep reminding me, “Bruno, your best days are ahead.” I’m starting to believe them, and I’m hoping my next chapter begins very soon.

If you know Dachshunds, you already understand our vibe. I’m only 10 lbs., which means rambunctious small children who want to roughhouse are… not my cup of tea. I prefer things calm, predictable, and gentle. I enjoy the company of other dogs, especially the smaller, easygoing ones.

I’d be proud to join you for training — I love using my brain almost as much as I love a warm blanket. I’m up for walks on pleasant days (or on not-so-pleasant days if I’m outfitted like a tiny, fashionable arctic explorer). Indoors, I’m game for nose work, puzzles, or fun little exercises. One more thing: I’m an excellent watchdog… very excellent. So apartments and condos won’t be the best match for my vocal talents.
