Doe arrived at Animatch just over five years ago with her two little pups in tow. Her babies soon found loving homes, and Doe found something wonderful of her own: a human who adored her and gave her five years of companionship. Sadly, life sometimes throws an unexpected curveball. Due to serious health issues, her beloved human could no longer care for her, and Doe recently found herself back at Animatch. It's never easy to start over, especially after five years in a home, but we're determined to help this beautiful girl find happiness again.
Doe is an impressive-looking German Shepherd, weighing in at 92 lbs, and she's a strong girl! To make walks more enjoyable and manageable, we strongly recommend introducing her to a Halti or Gentle Leader. There may be a little learning curve while she gets accustomed to wearing one, but it's an important tool for making walks safer and more pleasant for both Doe and her human.
One thing you should know about Doe: she prefers not to share her people with other dogs. She's looking for a home where she can be the one and only – no canine roommates, please! She has plenty of personality and plenty of love to give, and she'd like all the attention for herself. We also feel she'd be happiest in a single-family home with a fenced yard. Doe is quick to announce visitors and passersby (she takes her watchdog duties seriously!), so apartment or condo living would not be a good fit.
Now, let's talk about the wonderful things Doe brings to the table. She absolutely adores people and has never met a stranger who couldn't become a friend. She may offer a bark or two when first meeting someone new, but give her a moment and you'll likely have a new best friend. She's loyal, fun-loving, affectionate and happiest when she's included in whatever you're doing. Once you're her person, she'll make it her mission to be by your side – and she's not likely to let you forget how much she enjoys your company!
After five years of knowing what it means to belong to a family, Doe deserves to experience that feeling again. If you have room in your heart and home for this wonderful girl, and can offer her the companionship, attention and dog-free environment she needs, she will reward you with endless loyalty and affection.
