Chuck here! I’m a “doodle,” but here’s a new one for you… a Standard Poodle crossed with a Collie. Does that make me a Codoodle? I’ll let you decide! Whatever you call me, I’m a big, handsome fellow who is looking for a place to call home. And no, I don’t come with an instruction manual… although I may need a little help figuring out this next chapter of my life.
I arrived at Animatch with my best pal, Billie, after our family decided they no longer had enough time for us. Bummer! Now, I may be older than Billie, but there’s no question about who wears the pants in our relationship. She’s the boss, and I’m happy to follow her instructions. I think she’s rather impressed by my size, but don’t tell her I said that!
The good people at Animatch are still getting to know me, and so far, they’ve discovered that I’m a bit on the shy side. I’ve relied on Billie quite a bit, and now it’s time for me to step out from behind her and discover the wonderful dog I can be. Think of it as a personality in progress! Training classes, patience, encouragement, and positive experiences will help me build confidence and become more comfortable in my own four paws. I may be a big boy, but I still need someone who understands that confidence takes time to grow.
As for exercise, I’m discovering that those long walks everyone talks about can actually be pretty enjoyable! The Volunteers encourage me gently, and I’m beginning to see that there’s a whole world out there waiting to be explored. Daily walks, new adventures, and time spent bonding with my people will be important parts of my new life.
I’m looking for a patient, loving family who will give me the time and space to blossom. I may not be the life of the party just yet, but who knows what you’ll discover once I feel safe and secure? Somewhere beneath this shy exterior is a dog waiting to come into his own — and I’d love for you to be the one who helps me get there.
