Kira here, and I’m another one of those unclaimed treasures! I found myself at Animal Control and, naturally, I thought my family would come looking for me. Surely, someone must be missing me? Sadly, no one came forward. I’m still trying to figure that one out, but I’m ready to look ahead rather than dwell on the past.
The good people at Animatch quickly reassured me. “Put all that behind you, girl. A new life awaits!” I wasn’t quite sure what they meant at first, but there are plenty of dogs here who have found themselves in the same boat. They tell me that my next home will be one where I’m loved, cherished, and considered family for the rest of my life. Now that sounds like a plan!
I’m about a year old, possibly a little younger, which means I’m a blank slate with plenty of potential. I have lots to learn about this big world of ours, and I’ll need training, exercise, and socialization to help me become the best dog I can be. Love is wonderful, of course, but commitment is what makes a house a forever home. I’m hoping my next family understands that adopting me means sticking by me through all the stages of life — not just the easy or convenient ones.
How about we sign up for some training classes together? I have a few things to master, starting with walking nicely on a leash instead of giving you an unexpected arm workout! Long nature walks and hiking adventures sound right up my alley, and I enjoy balls and Frisbees, too. Mind you, I don’t always return them when asked. Apparently, the game is called fetch, not keep-away. More lessons may be required!
I’m young, eager to learn, and ready to make my future family proud. With patience, guidance, and a little humour along the way, I know we can accomplish wonderful things together.
I may have started out as an unclaimed stray, but that doesn't have to define my future.
