Hi, I’m Hazel — currently bald, slightly embarrassed, and very ready for my forever home.
Let’s get this out of the way first: yes, I was a fluffy, adorable doodle… and then someone brought out the clippers. One minute I was “scruffy but cute,” and the next I was starring in my own before-and-after makeover gone terribly wrong. All my doggy friends keep saying, “Relax Hazel, it’ll grow back!” but seriously… WHEN? Until then, I’ll need a warm coat because winter is no place for a naked doodle.
Now, onto the important stuff.
I was a family pet for three years, but sadly, my family no longer had time for me. Big bummer, because bringing a dog home is a 12–15 year commitment. So here I am—homeless for now, but hopeful.
I’m a sweet, energetic girl who really wants to please, but I’m still figuring out how to “read” humans. I love the idea of getting belly rubs and scratches, but I’m also a little unsure of people’s signals. With patience, time to decompress, and a gentle human who understands that trust takes time, I know I’ll bloom.
As a mix of two high-energy breeds, I’m always up for action—long walks, hikes, adventures in any weather. I get along with other dogs, and having a calm canine buddy could actually help show me the ropes.
Before you meet me, be warned: the photos show me at my usual doodle level of cute. The version you’ll meet? Let’s call it “Hazel: The Drafty Edition.” But hey—once my glorious coat grows back, regular brushing and professional grooming will keep me looking fabulous. For now… seriously, about that coat?
If you’ve got the time, kindness, and energy to help a shy girl shine, please consider adopting me. My next home needs to be forever. Fill out the application and ask for HAZEL — the soon-to-be-beautiful again doodle with a heart of gold.
NOTE: Photos of Hazel were taken "before" the haircut!
