You see, as much as I may have been dearly loved by my previous guardian, my adolescent energy eventually became a little more than he or she could manage. It happens, but it is a reminder that adopting a dog is a long-term commitment. A puppy or young dog may be adorable today, but those years of growing, learning and boundless energy need to be considered. It's important to choose a companion whose age and needs are a good match for your lifestyle, and whose care you can realistically commit to for the rest of his life.
Animatch and all my buddies have assured me not to worry. My perfect match is out there! You couldn't ask for a better little guy. I get along with the dogs in my play group, adore the dog walkers who make my day, and I'm always ready for a cuddle or a scratch behind the ears. What's not to love?
Now, with all the upheaval in my life recently, I may need a little refresher in the toilet-training department. No big deal! A little patience, consistency and encouragement should have me back on track.
And just because I'm small doesn't mean I don't need exercise. I enjoy getting out and about, although rainy and snowy days aren't exactly my cup of tea. Perhaps we can go on a shopping spree for some warm clothes ... maybe even a pair of boots! This boy has got style, after all!
