About Helen

Meet Helen – at long last!

After 25 years of welcoming 300–400 dogs a year, Animatch has finally hit the big naming milestone. Volunteers, fosters, and friends of the rescue have all had dogs named after them … except one very important person. How on earth did we miss this? Well, the wait is over. Ladies and gentlemen, meet Helen — named in honour of Animatch’s very own founder. We’re confident she’ll carry the name with pride (and maybe just a touch of mischief).

Helen and her three siblings were discovered abandoned in a vacated house, left to fend for themselves for about a week. We’ll never quite understand how people can leave puppies behind, but what matters now is giving Helen the loving, safe future she deserves.

At the moment, Helen is still learning the ropes of being a companion. She’s short on life experience but big on sweetness, and she’s eager to find a family who will give her time, training, and all the patience a pup needs. Puppy classes, consistency, and love will go a long way in helping her build trust and grow into the loyal dog she’s meant to be.

She’s looking for a home where she won’t be left alone for long stretches of the day and where her people understand that adopting a puppy isn’t just about the cute stage — it’s a 12- to 15-year commitment.

So, if you’re ready to give Helen the bright future she deserves, and carry the honour of raising the first-ever Helen of Animatch, step right up — this little namesake is waiting!
