About Copper

Hi, I’m Copper, and I’ve just been granted early retirement from a commercial breeder — my stud days are officially behind me! I’m ready to discover what being a real family dog is all about: daily neighbourhood walks, car rides, belly rubs, and affection with no strings attached.

I can be a little shy at first, but once I feel comfortable, my friendly and gentle nature shines through. I get along well with other dogs, and with a bit of patience, I’ll happily become someone’s loyal sidekick. I’m looking for a calm, devoted family who understands that this is my fresh start — and who is ready to commit to me for the rest of my days.

Since I’ve never lived with children, I would do best in an adult home or one with older, respectful kids. I’ve spent enough time on my own, so a family that isn’t gone all day would be ideal. Having another well-balanced dog in the home could also help show me the ropes and build my confidence.

Like many dogs coming from a breeding environment, I’ll need help with toilet training, as it simply wasn’t important in my previous life. The good news? I’m a smart cookie, and with patience and consistency, I should catch on quickly. I can be a bit vocal when left alone and bored, so apartment or condo living isn’t the best fit for me. A home with a yard would be a dream — especially if it comes with a chance to learn how to retrieve a ball or catch a frisbee.
