Mika

About Mika

There is something truly magical about watching a shy, anxious dog finally exhale and feel safe. That’s the moment we want for Mika.

Her start in life wasn’t easy. She travelled all the way from Tunisia with her mom and littermates, and although she was adopted about a year ago, her family is now moving and Mika isn’t part of the plan. Please remember: adopting a dog is not a “for now” decision. It’s a 12–15-year commitment, one that must outlast moves, new jobs, and new babies.

Animatch has promised Mika that we’ll get it right this time. Right now, she needs a little time to decompress—this unexpected change has caused her to regress and become fearful again. But once she feels safe, the real work (and the real transformation) can begin.

Mika is the kind of dog who thrives with a well-balanced canine companion who can show her that the world is not so scary. With a patient, dog-savvy family who moves at her pace and helps her rediscover her courage, she will once again hold her head and tail high, just like she used to. In time, she may even enjoy confidence-building training classes.

If you’re an experienced, understanding family with a steady dog who can help Mika shine, please fill out the Application Form and ask for her specifically. Mika is worth the time, love, and commitment—and she’s ready for her true forever home.

Note: Photo shoot to come.
