Hi, I’m Ally — a Maltese x Yorkie (a.k.a. a Morkie) with a big personality packed into a small, fluffy body. I was recently surrendered to Animatch, who have promised me that my best days are still ahead. I spent my first five years adored by a senior couple who loved me dearly. Training? Not so much. Love? Oh yes, loads of it. When it became physically impossible for them to care for me, a family member stepped in and did their best.
Here’s where honesty matters. I’m not a fan of other dogs, and toddlers make me nervous — their sudden movements, loud voices, and unpredictability are a bit too much for me. After a few incidents, the difficult decision was made to let Animatch find me a home better suited to my needs. Adults, however, are my jam. If you don’t mind enthusiastic kisses and a dog who sometimes loves a little too much, we’ll get along just fine.
Now, let’s talk about my voice. I take my job as neighborhood security very seriously. The mail carrier? Suspicious. The delivery driver? Definitely suspicious. A squirrel minding its own business? Highly suspicious. I am quick to sound the alarm — sometimes for reasons only I understand — so apartment or condo living is not for me. A home where my barking can be managed (with patience, training, and consistency) is a must.
At almost 9 years old, I still have plenty of pep in my step. I enjoy long walks on quiet streets (we’ll need to work on my reactivity), and I love using my brain just as much as my legs. Sniffing, exploring, playing fetch — trust me, your arm will get tired long before I do. Indoor games, enrichment toys, and maybe a little shopping spree for new activities? Yes, please.
I may not be perfect, but I am so worth the effort. Inside this little body is a dog who wants nothing more than to love and be loved in return. If you have patience, experience, and room in your heart for a barky but devoted companion, please fill out an application. I’m ready for my next chapter — and hoping it’s my forever one.
