UPDATE – June 27:
Hey there, it’s me, Octavia – back with a brand-new photo shoot! (Because let’s face it, the last one had me standing in snow… in January!) Can you believe it’s been nearly six months and I’m still waiting for my forever home?
They say good things come to those who wait — but I think I’ve waited long enough. I’ve made amazing progress with my leash skills, and the volunteers here always tell me I’m an absolute joy to be around. I’m affectionate, enthusiastic, and full of love — so what gives?
Okay, I’ll admit it: I’m strong and I get a bit rambunctious when I’m excited. What can I say? I just love attention! With a bit more training and someone who understands big-hearted dogs like me, I know I’ll shine.
I’d do best as the only dog in the home — my overly enthusiastic greetings can be a bit much for other pups. And cats? No, thank you. But people? I’ve never met a stranger! Expect tail wags, wiggly butt greetings, and the occasional kiss — or two!
So, if you’ve been scrolling past my bio thinking, “I hope she finds a home soon” … please, be the reason I do. Share my story. Tell a friend. Or better yet, fill out the adoption application and come meet me.
I’m so ready to start the next chapter of my life — and I hope it’s with you. 💛

Octavia here and I choose to believe that “after bad luck comes good fortune”. Being homeless makes you feel rejected and downhearted but thanks to some nice folks here at Animatch who are caring for me, I’ve been given a chance at life as a family dog. I was picked up by Animal Control as an unclaimed stray.
If dogs could smile, I’d be grinning from ear to ear. I like to refer to myself as a proud mutt. I don’t care about your genetic heritage – humans come in two varieties, good ones and not so good.
I have medium energy; a couple of good walks and some playtime and then I’ll be happy to settle down and watch a movie. We really need to work on my leash manners; I hear that it’s not all about dragging a human! I do get along with other dogs but I must be properly introduced and a low-key dog would be best. As far as humans go, I have never met a stranger.
I am about five years old and can’t wait to get back to family living – it is quite stressful to be in an environment where every dog is vying for human attention. I look forward to having some undivided attention.
If you are ready to dedicate your time, affection, patience, and life to our happy future, we’ll make some beautiful memories. I am so ready to feel your love. Please fill in the Application Form and ask for Octavia.
