Atom is one of five Chihuahua mix puppies who landed at Animatch when their human could no longer care for them. Sadly, very early in life, Atom injured one of his eyes and, despite everyone’s best efforts, it had to be removed. But here’s the thing about Atom: he clearly didn’t get the memo that he was supposed to feel sorry for himself!
This little guy is spunky, happy and ready to get on with the important business of being a puppy. He has four legs, one very cute face, a whole lot of personality and absolutely no intention of letting one missing eye slow him down. He’s ready to move right into your home—and, of course, straight into your heart.
Being a puppy means Atom needs a family that is home a good part of the day and ready for all the fun, work and occasional puppy mischief that comes with the package. Because he is very tiny, children should be over 8 and have experience with small dogs. Atom has already had one unfortunate mishap in his young life, so we want to make sure the next chapter is a safe one.
An older, dog-savvy sibling who can show him the ropes would be a definite bonus. He hasn’t met the resident cat yet, but with the rig
ht introduction, he may be able to learn that cats are friends—or at least respectable roommates.
And let’s clear up one thing about Chihuahuas: they are dogs, not accessories! Atom should not spend his days being carried around like a designer handbag. He has four perfectly good legs and intends to use them. A young Chihuahua can be a terrific walking, hiking and adventure buddy, so don’t underestimate those little legs!
We also want Atom to grow into a confident, well-balanced little fellow, so puppy classes and basic training should be on his agenda. Puppies are sponges—they love to learn, explore and figure out what makes the humans tick. Training will give Atom something to think about and help him become the very best version of himself.
One eye, four legs, a wagging tail and a whole lot of puppy fun—Atom is ready for his next adventure. Could it be with you? Fill in the application form!
