It will be your choice but you must know what you are getting into and commit to me for the next 10 to 15 years! I never want to be homeless again.

In some ways you will be tied down so you must really want me. No more all-night parties (really), no more extended travel plans (unless I come along), no more pick up and go without any thought to me waiting at home. You gotta want me.

You will be responsible for feeding me, walking me, and training me to be a good canine citizen. Doesn’t matter if it’s raining or you don’t feel like getting up off the couch, I need you. And, as long as we are together, you must ensure that I am safe, take care of me, and if I am sick foot the Vet bills.

Your wallet will be lighter, your clothes might be covered in dog hair, and while a few little things might be chewed or destroyed. You may well have to clean up after me – no puppy comes toilet trained. Carpets can be cleaned, clothes can be washed, and little things can be replaced.

But, when you walk through that door my eyes will light up, my whole body will start shaking, and I will be doing the happy dance. Doesn’t matter if you are away for 5 minutes or 5 hours, the reception will be the same. What can’t be replaced is the loyalty and unconditional love that I will have for you. I will poke you with my big wet nose and all will be right with the world.

I guarantee that there won’t be a moment when you regret your decision to adopt me. I am part of your life; you are my family. From the second I meet you to my very last day, you will be loved by me.
