Cheese here and I am one of Raclette’s awesome puppies.  If you have the good fortune of meeting me, you will also notice that I have a slight neurological problem – nothing serious.  I am smaller than my littermates and every milestone that I hit was a few weeks after them.  For the first weeks, I lacked muscle strength and was stumbling and bobbing my head.  I lacked coordination.   The Volunteers watch in amazement as I get better and better at doing what most dogs take for granted.  Does that mean I am not adoptable – no way.  The furever home that lands me will have a fantastic, sweet, and loyal companion. The awesome Animatch Vet can’t answer all the questions until I am a little older.  

Despite having a few disabilities, I really want to live my best life – quirks and all -- in the comfort and safety of my very own home.  I enjoy all the same activities as other dogs but you might just have to take a few breaks to let me get acclimated to a new situation.  I tend to wobble a little when I walk, but you should not carry me I will do it in my own time.  People tell me that I am different from other dogs but I just don’t see it; I simply long for acceptance.

An older gentle dog would comfort me and make me feel safe and secure.   I’d be perfectly okay with a cat too.  Rest assured my one true love will always be the human smiling down at me – the one who accepts me and embraces me for who I am.  I may never win ribbons for agility, but I will be an all-around champ at living through some hard knocks and coming out a survivor.
