Shaylee here – and yes, I’m back.
I was adopted three years ago, and sadly, I’ve found myself back at Animatch. My former family said I was simply too much dog for them. What can I say? I’ve got spirit, energy, and a healthy sense of adventure. If the door’s open, I might take it as my cue to go exploring. And fences? I can clear them like an Olympian – so you’ll need to keep a close eye on me. I love going for long walks, though I may pull a little (okay, a lot). A Halti or Gentle Leader would be a great place to start, along with some refresher training.
But let’s talk about the good stuff – and there’s plenty!
I adore all creatures – two-legged and four-legged, I’m not picky. My family said I was never destructive in the house and was great at entertaining myself. I know the rhythm of family life and I’m hoping my next one will be forever. I’m a Northern girl at heart, so winter adventures are just as important to me as summer ones. I need daily walks, plenty of exercise, and lots of sniffing time to keep my brain and body happy.
I haven’t lived with kids, but older, dog-savvy ones could be a blast. I get along well with other dogs – in fact, sometimes too well. When I spot one across the street during a walk, I get a little too excited. Don’t worry, though – that’s something we can work on together.
Apartment or condo life? Probably not for me. I’m not a big barker, but I do love spending time outdoors, and I’d be happiest in a home with a secure yard and room to move.
When I first came back, I was heartbroken. I really tried to be a good dog – and I still am. I just need a patient, active family who’s ready to help me thrive. With a little time, structure, and love, I promise to be the best version of myself.
So, what do you say? Fill out that application and ask for Shaylee. I’m ready to go home – this time for good.
