UPDATE - JAN. 15:
UPDATE - DEC. 5:
Jersey is my name and I am a striking Australian Shepherd and my breed can be trained to do just about anything. I was surrendered to Animatch because of illness in my family. Aussies are sensitive types and losing the only home I knew was rough on me; it resulted in me displaying some unacceptable behaviour. FIC came to my rescue and for the past few months, they have been tirelessly working with me. Nothing boosts a dog’s confidence like training. Aussies are working dogs not simply pets to hang around the house or backyard; in fact, we thrive on being active. I want to run and hike and swim and play fetch games and participate in herding, or agility (obstacle course), or advanced obedience, or tracking, or a similar canine activity. You name it, I’ll try it. Openness and loyalty are the qualities I possess, and once I find someone I can rely on, I’ll be their best friend for life. If we are being open and honest with each other, and I’d like us to be, then I will tell you that I struggle when it comes to sharing (especially at first), so it is best that I am the only dog and to be safe an adult family would be ideal. FIC has invested a LOT of time and energy into getting me to a place where I have the potential of being a wonderful member of a family. Word on the doggy grapevine is that FIC is the place to make a dog all that she can be. That does not mean that there is nothing else to do when I leave; training must be part of our everyday routine. Thanks to the good people here, I have come a long way. Now, I need to be special in someone’s life and continue my journey? If you have the experience, the time, and the desire to adopt me, then by all means fill in the Adoption Form.
Please note that due the volume of applications, we are unable to respond to all applicants and ONLY those being considered will be contacted. We thank you for your understanding. The adoption application link is posted below and the adoption process is outlined on the website. Animatch asks that you read the Adoptee’s bio in its entirety before applying to ensure you meet the requirements for the dog.
