About

Conquest

Conquest is a recent arrival – a fun-loving, rambunctious, adolescent.  Although, he is only about a year old – he has experienced suffering that no dog should have to endure.  Warning – the last photo is graphic.

Conquest arrived with a rope (used as a collar) deeply embedded in his neck; he required immediate surgery.  His scars may never completely heal.  Embedded collars cause wounds that are extremely painful resulting in the dog’s skin growing over the collar (rope).  He was surely crying, whimpering, scratching, and shaking.  That is not an oversight, that is neglect.

Even if a dog is outside a good part of the day, it is a human’s responsibility to check on them often. In fact, every time Conquest pulled on the rope, it must have been excruciating.   Dogs are indoor animals; they don’t belong outside 24/7.

Cruelty and neglect cross all social and economic boundaries – abuse happens in both urban and rural areas all over the world.  Only a fraction of cases is reported.  Humans all need to speak up when they witness an animal in pain.

In the meantime, Conquest waits for his home.  He can’t wait to feel wanted.  Please fill in an application form if you would like to show him what being a family dog is all about.
