Tuuki

I would just like to thank everyone who made it possible for us to adopt 'Tuuki'. He is an amazing dog who reveals a little more of himself with each passing day. He has blended into this family very easily. I am quite certain he is a German Shepherd/Chow Chow mix. It of course took him a couple of days to get into the swing of things. He has lot's of exercise and rules which he is picking up very quickly. My other dog Roxy has taught a thing or two as well. He looooves food! Food motivated and prey driven. He just looooves those squirrels. I give them their kongs at night stuffed with a few cookies. After a few days he was able to figure out how to get those suckers out. I just wanted to say that my dog Zoe of 10 years passed away 3 weeks ago. We found out in Feb. 2015 that she had Osteosarcoma. They gave her 3-6 months but my girl was strong as she has always been and succumbed to this horrible disease 9 months later. She was eating and playing and talking to us up to 3 days before she passed. Zoe was a Malamute/German Shepherd/Chow Chow/Collie mix. I got her at 8 weeks old and this dog taught me so much. The true meaning of life and what is important. I brought her every where and gave her everything but she gave me even more. A few days before her passing, we got friends and family together and we swapped stories of Zoe. Our fondest memories of her and funny moments we had all shared. This dog was bigger than life (which is what Zoe stands for in Greek). She was kind and gentle. She would lick my boo boos and my tears away. She was very vocal and believe you me...she would tell you how it was sometimes. A truly incredible soul. A couple of weeks after her passing, I started talking to her in my kitchen and told her that I needed her help to adopt another dog. Roxy was getting lonesome and our heart was missing something. The FIRST dog I saw on Animatch was TUUKI! I read his profile and just KNEW. It was a feeling I cannot really explain. I looked at other dogs of course...but kept going back to him. I released it into the Universe and yes, the Universe brought him to us. I knew from my husband's face the night we went to see him it was all over! He was IN LOVE! I just want to say that sometimes we think we are not ready and that is okay....if and when you do decide to get another dog, no one can predict how that will happen. When it does though, you will know. Our home is once again complete and I am grateful for all of it. Our pets leads us from patience to love and then to loss...but it is always a journey worth taking...
