I just made a donation in memory of Willie, our beloved dog. This is something I should have done a long time ago, under different circumstances, to thank you for bringing Willie into our lives. He left us much too soon and we miss him immensely. He was diagnosed not that long ago with congestive heart failure. At first, he reacted well to his medications and regained his energy and appetite but unfortunately, it did not last and last Monday, I had to make the difficult decision to put him to sleep. The house is so empty without him... I forgot when exactly we got Willie from Animatch. It must have been seven or eight years ago. He had been with you for a while because he was scared of everything and not easily adoptable. My daughter had met Willie when she had done a short story at Animatch as part of her journalism program. She somehow convinced me that he needed us..and that we needed him. When we first got Willie, he was indeed scared of everything. I think his previous owners might not have been nice to him and when he thought it'd done something wrong, he would go and sit in a corner. It was so sad. Consequently, we couldn't teach him to sit for a long while and that was ok. I even remember asking my vet if there was something wrong with his hips... Eventually, he became more relaxed, and after a year or so, even willingly accepted to sit at street corners or before he was fed. He was a happy dog. Well fed, exercised daily, rain or shine. He was treated with love and respect and had a good life with us. Thank you again for letting us adopt Willie. We made him part of our family and he taught us a lot. Christiane SimardP.S I'm sending you a picture of Willie with my daughter who loved him so much. It was taken last December in the Toronto Distillery District where we often went for walks on Sunday mornings.
