Charlie has just turned 1 year old !! He’s a big boy now. How do you like his long, hippy dippy hairdo? In this pic, he’s a the door to the backyard telling his mama that the coast is clear, that he’s chased away all those pesky squirrels for her !!It certainly wasn't easy bringing a scared little puppy into my life; Charlie had severe separation anxiety issues, however, after alot of work, with the support of a great professional trainer, and by having him go to doggie daycare while I was at work (he ‘graduated” just a few weeks ago), I am happy to report that Charlie is well on his way to being able to stay home alone while his Mama is at work (I come home at lunch, so he’s not alone for too long at a time) and he still goes to doggie daycare one day a week to be with “his pack” !!It’s true love. After losing my beloved dog, Chester, of 15 years, I didn’t think I could ever love a dog again like I loved Chester, however, this little fella has definitely earned a solid spot in my heart. He’s currently curled up on my lap, snoozing, as I struggle to type this note all twisted off to the side so as I don’t disturb him .. ouch.Thank-you again to Helen, Joanne, Sherri and all the other Animatch volunteers for believing in the power of the love for these creatures and for everything that you do for dogs in need.-Dawn.
