Yanouche

A Female Yorkshire Terrier presently Adopted

My name is Yanouche and I have just come through a very rough patch.  I am so grateful that Animatch took me under their wing.  I was dropped off at the Vet with pyometra (infection of the uterus) which left untreated is serious and life threatening.  I guess the fact that I was 10 years old and had already produced several litters was the reason why my family opted for no treatment.  Of course, the Animatch leader looked at my face and saw a fierce desire to survive -- and survive I did.  After going through surgery and being at the hospital for a week, I am now up and about and ready to go to my new home.  Animatch has recently found it necessary to increase their adoption and I sure hope that the public understands why.  My adoption fee of $325.00 does not come close to covering what it cost for my surgery, hospital stay, and meds.  I for one am so happy that they came to my rescue.

Of course, I may move more slowly, my muzzle is going grey, and my eyes may be a bit cloudy.  For these reasons, dogs of my age are often overlooked at rescues and shelters.  But look into my old, wizened face and you’ll see a lifetime of experience – happy times and sad.  I’d really like to see people get as excited about me as they do about the puppies; there is lots of beauty, dignity, and character in old girls like me.  Just give us a chance.  And don’t think that all I want to do is sleep; much as I do enjoy a good night’s rest and a few snoozes during the day.  I’m also game to go for a nice long walk and car rides are fun too!  No dog deserves to be homeless but it is even sadder to be my age and get dumped; after all I did give them my best years.  So, if you have a soft spot for seniors (and a nice cozy bed), I’d be so happy to share my life with you.  It’s not how much time we have together but making each day count.  Please consider adopting me ... fill in the Adoption Form and let’s turn my luck around.

“Everybody loves puppies.  Older dogs love everybody.”
