A Male Mixed Breed presently Adopted
Update - Sep: Tocson has been at Animatch far too long. Yes, he has a few quirks but would the human who has none, please come forward. He has been in a foster home for a while and his Foster Mom says that he is a very bouncy and active senior. Tocson has learned to get along with her dogs and even tolerates the cats, although he sometimes needs to be corrected for chasing them. He would do well as an only dog or with another laid-back canine who will not always be pestering him. Barking could be an issue so apartment or condo living should be avoided. An experienced adult home would be perfect for this fellow. Tocson has come a long way since his arrival, he’s ready for the big step right into his forever home. Please fill in an Adoption Form if you want to give him his happily ever after.
Sometimes words just don’t come easily to describe one of our adoptees. This is the case for Toscson; he is 9 years old and finds himself in need of a home. When he arrived at the Centre, he was totally lost and frightened. Hard enough to be homeless as a young dog but as a senior who just longs for his old life and familiar faces, it is devastating. Tocson was taken to a vet because he was not tolerant around the grandchildren. He is a Chihuahua x Jack Russell; in general, two breeds that are not always accepting of grabby hands and boisterous children. Tocson was a timid and suspicious character; however, bit by bit he seems to be putting his trust in the Volunteers -- to the point of enjoying his cuddle time and belly rubs. Although he was particularly quiet at first, he seems to be discovering his voice, so we are not certain yet if he is a candidate for apartment/condo living. He is in great shape and is capable of long walks in the neighbourhood. An adult home would best suit him or one with teenagers. Tocson has all the qualities required to become an awesome companion. Are you the one to give this shy fellow his happily ever after? Please fill in the Adoption Form and ask for Tocson.
“When adopting a dog, take the time to meet the scared ones, the shy ones, the ones that don’t stick out to you. The ones that hide under their beds or blankets, the ones that bark and shake and cry and look at you with confusion. The ones that cower. The ones with boring colours or missing limbs. The older ones, the frail ones. The ones who seem beyond repair. The ones who seem to have given up. Because they are not...and they haven’t. They just need you. AND sometimes you just really need them too.”
