A Male Shih Tzu-x presently Adopted

UPDATE - SEP:  What does a guy have to do around here to get himself adopted?  We figure it might be the “old black dog” syndrome but hey take a photo of me against the blue sky or white snow and I pose a beautiful, striking picture.  So, Gary, the Animatch photographer, decided I could use another photo shoot and he worked his magic, made sure to get my good side, and slapped a scarf around my neck to bring out the colour of my eyes.  Voila, Rikki, the Super Model.  Some might think, “this old boy is 10, how much longer can he have?”  Well, if you say that, you haven’t met me.  I still got a lot of bounce in my step and I’m not planning on slowing down any time soon.  I’m a short, black, little charmer and I’m not afraid to flaunt it.  I am seeking a human who is not afraid of commitment – one who can meet my needs and spoil me beyond my wildest dreams.  Sound like you?  I’ve been at Animatch far too long and that can take its toll – being passed over so many times makes a guy feel less than special!  Give me respect, give me patience, give me understanding, and you’ll be number one in my book. If that sounds like a good deal, don’t just sit there … fill in an Adoption Form.

Hundreds of dogs come through the Animatch doors every year and for the most part they are given up for the same old excuses:  no time, new baby, moving, too much dog.  However, on occasion there are dogs who have had caring homes who are surrendered for reasons beyond anyone’s control.  That is the case for Rikky; we are happy that he was entrusted to our care until we find him a new home.  Rikki is friendly, sweet, and seems to miss the one-one-one attention from his human.  If you are looking for an affectionate dog, you can count on Rikky to come through for you.  Even though he might be shy at first, his desire to be loved and pampered makes him come around very quickly.   Although Rikky is 10 years old, he has a lot of spunk and wag in his tail.  A family without young children would best suit him.  He gets along with other dogs but he is more focussed on human companionship.  Animatch hopes to find him a home where he will experience the same kind of love and devotion that he once knew.  Please fill in the Adoption Form if you would like to give this deserving dog his second chance at happiness.
