Rascal

A Male Jack Russell Terrier presently Adopted

Animatch has a JRT!  Rascal is a two-year-old, male, Jack Russell Terrier, who comes to Animatch via Animal Control as an unclaimed stray.  Like all our adoptees, he has been gifted with a forgiving nature and deserves to have a committed home, something he has not yet experienced.  Rascal is a spunky fellow who will be a devoted and loyal companion to his new guardian.  But before contemplating the adoption of a Jack Russell, please do your research.  The JRT’s hunting instincts are legendary – their “raison d’être” is to run, hunt, and chase.  Rascal is a bright, clever, athletic fellow who will need oodles of play sessions – especially ball chasing -- and of course lots of walking.  As with all Jack Russels, he learns very quickly and obedience training classes are definitely recommended.  JRT’s need to exercise their minds, as well as their bodies.  If you would like to try your hand at agility or another dog sport, Rascal will be an enthusiastic participant.  He would best suit an experienced family and one where he is not alone all day; he is not the type of dog who is content to sleep away the hours.  Too little exercise, too little companionship, and too little mental stimulation will lead to boredom.  A completely fenced yard is a must for Rascal in order to keep him safe.   If you are up for the challenge, Rascal is an amazing Jack Russell and will be the best canine pal his new guardian could ever hope for.   A home experienced with the breed would be ideal. If that would be you, please fill in the on-line Adoption Form.
