Padou

A Male Shih Tzu-x presently Adopted

Meet Padou, a 5-month-old, Shih Tzu mix.  This animated, gorgeous pup is in need of a home.  Before you go directly to the application form …. THINK.  Are you prepared for the commitment, patience, and educating required to raise a puppy?   Padou has previously been in two homes and Animatch vows that the next one will be his last; bouncing from home to home is not a good thing.  He was originally given up by a senior who could no longer care for him.  Padou was then adopted but sadly the couple were not ready for the mayhem a puppy can bring about.  Keep in mind, all adult members of a family should be on board before adopting a dog; otherwise, it is a recipe for disaster.  Padou is frisky, playful, vocal at times, and one of the adorable puppies you will ever meet.  However, his needs must be met and we intend to be selective to ensure that no oversights are made.  No dog, especially a puppy, arrives trained to walk well on leash and obey basic commands.  Animatch provides the dog … the adopter does the rest!  Therefore, obedience classes are essential.  Please don’t tell us that you know all about dogs and don’t need to take classes – dog training is constantly evolving and it is a perfect way to bond with your new dog.  In fact, the classes are as much (or more) for the human as they are for the dog.  Of course, Animatch will only consider applicants who are not gone more than a few hours during the day.  We are on the lookout for an experienced family who believes in commitment when adopting a dog.  Padou would do best with an active family who will include him in many of their activities; if you are looking for a couch potato, he is not the dog for you.  Since he can be quite vocal, apartment or condo living is not recommended.  If you believe that you have what it takes to offer this wide-eyed pup all that he needs to grow into a well-balanced dog, then by all means fill in the Adoption Form.
