Miley thought it would be forever and is bewildered as to why she is back at the Animatch Centre. Simple fact is that her adoption didn’t work – it happens and no one is to blame! It can take weeks or months for a dog to adjust to a new environment and during that period a dog can be reactive when they are disturbed or become fearful – remember, you are only considered family when a dog is comfortable and secure. So, whoever adopts Miley needs to let her be when she needs alone time and even though she is a senior, it is never too late for obedience training. Whenever she does something you don’t like, instead of trying to understand “what’s gotten into her all of a sudden”, try figuring out what made her act this way. Miley is quite dominant with other dogs so she would do better as your one and only. She has never lived with children and because she has displayed some reactivity, an adult home is required. Animatch is looking for an experienced guardian who will give Miley the time and training that she needs to be the best dog she can be. Please fill in the adoption form if you wish to adopt Miley.
If having two dogs has always been your ultimate goal, adopting two like Ti-Loup and I that are already bonded and terrific companions might be easier than adopting two separately. Our human was moving to an assisted living facility and could simply not take us along. To date we have had a wonderful life and it shows in our demeanor. Throughout this upheaval we have taken comfort in each other and we have handled the uncertainty well. Not all dogs that arrive together at Animatch are considered bonded but Ti-Loup and I are a definite pair. Just think, two dogs – twice the love! Our favorite pastimes are going for walks (together), playing (together) and watching television (together) – you can throw in a good butt scratch now and then. At the end of the day, we are quite content to curl up side by side and dream sweet doggy dreams about our future together. Although Ti-loup and I are not rambunctious pups, we will both require daily walks in order to remain healthy and happy. If you give these two bundles of love a new leash on life, in return you will have two very devoted and loving companions. Please fill in the Adoption Form if you are interested in adopting Miley and Ti-Loup.
