Maze

A Female Labrador-x presently Adopted

UPDATE - Oct. 22:  Animatch is always happy when one of our dogs who has been with us for a long period of time finds a home.  Maze's day finally arrived and she has gone to her new home.  Thanks to Lori, her Foster Mom, for helping bring out the best in Maze.

UPDATE - June 7:  Hey, Maze here and I'm back.  Looks like I'm ot cut out to be a detection dog -- my sniffer works just fine but my attention span is a little too short.  I gave it my best shot but not all dogs are cut out for the work.  I'd say I do well with an experienced family who is going to continue doing obedience training (maybe event agility or some other dog sport) and give me the exercise that I require.  So, you have a second chance at making me part of your family.  Fill in the Adoption Form and ask for Maze.

Maze has been selected to particiipate in the detector dog training for CBSA (Canada Border Services Agency).  She will be with them for a few months to establish if she is suitable for this type of work.  Best of luck, Maze.

Meet Maze – beautiful but no longer cute!  Yes, she is another rambunctious adolescent with no training and a little attitude.  Maze is undeniably testing her limits and has no concept of her boundaries.  She demonstrates puppy behaviour but she is much bigger and her poor manners are less acceptable.   Up to this point, she is doing exactly what she did as a young puppy -- she is really good at it.  She is a pro at jumping on people, gnawing on hands or feet when given the chance, and demonstrating some defiance from time to time.  Impossible to train – absolutely not!  Unfortunately, Maze was surrendered because her guardian had health issues and could not longer care for her.  Maze has energy galore and will need an active lifestyle; jogging, hiking, power-walking – she can be your partner.  She gets along great with other dogs and would do well with a playmate.  Obedience training is recommended to help her become the good canine citizen that she is quite capable of being. Families with young children aren’t for Maze; she would be knocking them down and her present habit of mouthing could be annoying.  Older, sturdy, children would best suit her spirited nature.  Do you have what it takes to exercise, train, and show Maze her boundaries, she has a ton of potential to be an awesome companion.  Please fill in the Adoption Form if you are the one to get Maze on the right track.
