A Female Chihuahua presently Adopted

What were you thinking?  Do dogs have feelings, you ask?  Turns out we do.  Did you know that dogs are capable of feeling joy, fear, anger, disgust, and, yes, love?  What we do not experience are emotions like, guilt, disgust, and shame.  The people who left me without looking back deserve to be feeling all of these right now.  My name is Maura and when my family’s car broke down, they left me in it and never came back.  Like all dogs, I loved them no matter what and I really did think that they would return to the car.  I was so convinced that they would be back for me and I waited patiently until finally, Animal Control came to the rescue.  I was frightened and so cold; I was relieved to see them.  Understand that not only did I fear for my life but I was in a lot of discomfort.  If you can handle it, take a look at the size of the inguinal hernias that I have been living with (photo).   My bladder, intestines, uterus, and other organs were just one tangled mess and I had to undergo extensive surgery.  This was not something I was about to “outgrow”, this would eventually have become life-threatening.  If they had to rehome me, it should have been done responsibly.  My recovery will include lots of quiet time and of course some cuddling and soft words.  Animatch has found the perfect Foster Mom for that type of thing.  I get along with other dogs (quiet ones are the best) and cats don’t seem to bother me.  I am not ready to go anywhere yet but I know that soon I will be reviewing all the applications.

Animatch had to delve into their Emergency Fund again but what better reason to do it than for a dog like me.  If you feel like you can help, it is always appreciated.  I want them to be able to help the next dog that needs their assistance as much as I did.
