A Male Mixed Breed presently Adopted
Ludvic has gone to his new home and we our wish is that his family will have many happy years with him. Special thanks to Virginie Forest and Alain Bonneau of *FIC who gave this boy a chance to become a good canine citizen. Be good, handsome boy!
Update - August: Ludvic here and I am wondering why! Everyone thought another photo shoot would just prove that I am still a hunk of a dog. Now that FIC have worked their magic on me, everyone agrees that I would make a wonderful companion. I get along really well with other dogs but would do better in a feline free home. An experienced person who is willing to continue my training would be great; I never want to go back to the way I was before. If you are willing to begin a lifelong partnership, I'm here and ready to go.
Update – April: Ludvic just keeps getting better looking every day and FIC believes that he has the potential to be a good canine citizen although there is still work to do. Whoever adopts Ludvic must understand that training does not end when they walk out the door of FIC; it must be part of his future and everyday life. In addition to formal training, it can also be woven into every day life and all family members must be on board and of the same mind. Like all dogs, he can continue to learn and improve his behaviour indefinitely. Continued guidance, training, and the right amount of exercise will reward you with a healthy and harmonious relationship with this handsome dog. Ludvic enjoys the company of other dogs and might benefit from another canine in the home. He definitely requires an experienced adult family who are ready to commit to helping him be all that he can be. If you would like to adopt Ludvic, please fill in the Adoption Form.
Ludvic possesses heart-stopping good looks and no doubt when his family first brought him home, they thought that they had a new “best friend”. However, it takes a lot of determination, patience, and work to transform a puppy into a good canine citizen. Everyone knows that through a dog’s adolescence, you may always love them, but sometimes you don’t like them very much. Ludvic requires a lot of educating which many mistakenly believe comes naturally. Animatch has proof that it doesn’t and for this reason, we enlisted the help of FIC. They are now working hard to improve this dog’s chance at a successful adoption. First on the agenda is the “four on the floor rule”. He must be taught not to launch himself at people. Secondly, he must cease the mouth contact; biting pant legs, shirtsleeves, or worse unprotected skin is not acceptable behaviour. After Ludvic leaves *FIC, he will require a guardian who agrees to continue this training. In fact, positive reinforcement training should be done on a daily basis; it doesn’t end when you leave the class. Of course, Ludvic will require a lot of exercise – long walks and plenty of them. Plus, don’t forget the “nose work” along the way. Ludvic’s family may have had a super dog on their hands but they did nothing with him until his behaviour became unbearable. Ludvic will be spending some more time at FIC to improve his social skills. He is a smart dog and with the invaluable assistance of Virginie, Alain, and their team of students, we know that he will soon realize his full potential. In an experienced home with a family who can meet all his needs, he has the potential of being your new “best friend”.
