Kalie here and I choose to believe that “after bad luck comes good fortune”. Life has been a roller coaster ride for my first 18 months. On the plane ride from Cuba to Canada, I was so happy to feel the love. But, as all the good people here at Animatch repeat over and over …. love in copious amounts is required when you adopt a dog but even more important is commitment. The person who brought me back tried to find me a home but like people dogs come with baggage! No one was willing to take my past as a street dog into consideration. I am super loyal, affectionate, playful and smart as can be, but I am also pretty shy initially, so I ask that you be gentle and gain my trust. When it comes to other dogs, I need a proper introduction. Animatch is quite certain that I have some Whippet or Greyhound in my mix as I am very prey driven. Therefore, no cats or tiny dogs for this girl. In Cuba, my breed was listed as “mestizo” which means I have the best of many breeds all rolled into one. Whoever adopts me should register us both for obedience training as I need to buff up on my basics. You couldn’t ask for a sweeter personality in a dog, all I need is what all dogs deserve …. Commitment (that word again)! Someone who promises to teach me all about the real world. And you thought the story ended here – nope. After my routine Vet visit, I tested positive for Enrichliosis which is a tick-borne disease. No worries, I have no symptoms and my treatment will be decided by the Vet. I eager to learn so many new things about life as a family dog with the help of a confident but easy-going guardian. Do you think you might be the one to take a chance on me? Please fill in the Adoption Form if you would like to offer me my first real home.
NO APTS/CONDOS -- can be vocal.
