A Female Danesky (Great Dane x Husky) presently Adopted
Update - Feb. 17: Happy to announce that Kai has pulled through. In fact, she is now back at the Animatch Centre. We appreciate all who donated to help this girl, you have made it possible for her to move forward and have the life every dog deserves. Now all that is missing is her forever home.
Update - Feb 15: Kai's condition is stable and is still being closely monitored. Animatch is optimistic that she will make a full recovery and be ready for her home soon. Another update will follow.
Kai was rushed to the Lasalle Veterinary Hospital today Feb. 13 and was diagnosed with parvo virus. Puppies get very sick with this dreaded disease and symptoms include fever, bloody diarrhea, vomiting, and dehydration. At less than four months old, Animatch believes that we have to do what we can to save Kai’s life. If she can survive the next 3-4 days, there is a good chance that she will make a complete recovery. In the meantime, she requires veterinary care including intravenous fluids, antibiotics, and constant monitoring. Sadly, there is a cost to saving her life and once again we are counting on you for your financial assistance. Please consider making a donation for Kai’s care. Instead of that box of Valentine’s Chocolates or $10.00 card, let’s make the day about helping Kai.
If you are an active, outdoorsy person who would enjoy sharing your life with me … keep on reading! First of all, I am a proud Northern Dog who thanks to the Northern Paws Project, has been given a chance at a new life. As you can see, I’m an ultra-cute girl who is very affectionate, playful, outgoing, bouncy, intelligent, and oh so sweet! I am sure that when you meet me you will find many more adjectives to describe me. I am learning that a crate is a good thing and have caught on that doing my business outside brings a lot of joy to the humans around here. I get a bit worked up on leash and will try to pull you where I want to go but apparently obedience training will go a long way in teaching me manners. I get along very well with other dogs – as long as they keep out of my food bowl. We Northern dogs are protective of our food and you must be aware of that. If you have a cat, that’s not going to work as I love to chase those critters just a little too much. I would be great with sturdy kids who are experienced with big “goofy” dogs. I am a Danesky (Great Dane x Husky) so no doubt I have a LOT of growing to do in the coming year or so. I can’t wait to find my wonderful forever family, because I know we are going to have an amazing life together! Don’t waste time, a face like this is not going to be around forever. Please fill in the Adoption Form and ask for Kai.
