Glacier is a gentle and sweet free spirit.  On the day that she was to travel to Animatch with her 7 puppies, she broke out of her travel crate and escaped.  Four days later she arrived at the Animatch Centre (after another unsuccessful escape) to join her pups.  Glacier is not accustomed to being confined (whether it be a crate or a room) and becomes stressed when she is.  In fact, she demolished part of a wall and molding around the door her first night at the Centre.  It is difficult for our Northern dogs to be free to roam one day and be restricted the next.  Despite her desire to be free, Glacier absolutely adores human companionship.  In fact, if she is outdoors alone her goal is to jump the fence; if she outdoors with a human, Glacier is right by your side asking for kisses and belly rubs.  Animatch expects that whoever adopts Glacier will be totally committed to providing her with a lifestyle that meets her needs – human presence a good part of the day, a property that is safe and secure, a love of the outdoors (especially in winter).  There is the possibility that Glacier may need medication to help with her anxiety – time will tell.  Her visit to our Vet revealed an old fracture to her hind leg.  As a result, her leg a little crooked and although she may not ever be a candidate to participate in the Iditarod, she will certainly enjoy many long walks and adventures with her human.  No doubt that Glacier will make her human the center of her universe; her life will revolve around their love, training, patience, and consistency.  If you have the experience and the desire to help Glacier through this uncertain time, you will never find a more loyal friend.  Fill in the Adoption Form and ask for Glacier.
